There are basically two types of container handlers that you can invest in – empty handlers and handlers that are designed to deal with containers that are loaded with goods. Empty handlers are produced to deal with the lighter load of an empty shipping container and do not require special measures to account for any imbalance that can be created by a container carrying goods that are unevenly distributed.
Full container handlers on the other hand need to be sturdier, tougher and have a greater load carrying capacity than the empty handlers. This is because they need to account for the weight of the goods inside the container as well as the mass of the container itself. Goods in a shipping container are rarely distributed evenly and can cause lifting equipment to topple over while in operation. This is dangerous on many levels.
The best type of full container handlers have crane or hydraulic arms that can lift a container from the top rather than using a platform or fork to do the heavy lifting. Cranes and hydraulic arms are placed on a study mobile vehicle that can compensate for the imbalance that can be created by full containers. It is very important to never use an empty container handler to lift and move a container that may be carrying goods of any kind.
However, it is suitable for a full container handler to lift and move empty containers. Due to the sturdy nature of the full container handler it may not always be convenient to use this type of lifting equipment in small areas or narrow aisles. This is why many shipping yards, docks and other environments that require this type of heavy lifting machinery make use of both types of container handlers in their operations on a daily basis.

Materials Used For Manufacturing Bearing Products
Bearing products are made from a wide range of different materials. The most common bearings are made from white metal alloys consisting of materials such as tin, antimony, lead, steel etc. White metal is considered very tough and durable and last much longer than other types of materials that are used in the manufacture of bearings.
Composite bearings are made from more than one metal. For example a steel bearing can be backed with bronze powder which is a softer metal and provides a self lubricating function. There are also metallic self lubricating bearing products that are usually made from cast iron or bronze and use a type of resin that forms part of the bearing to provide the necessary lubrication.
Plastic bearing products are manufactured using an injection moulding technique. These bearings are much less durable and hard wearing than any of the types of metal bearings mentioned above. However, additive fibres and resins can also be included with these bearings to give them the same self lubricating properties as with some kinds of metal bearings.
Other softer metals that are also used to produce bearings include copper, aluminium and softer plastics. These bearings are more suitable in the manufacture of ball bearings rather than slide, strip or line bearings. It is not recommended to use these bearings where great friction and wear and tear will be experienced as they will not function optimally and could lead to catastrophic break down of equipment and machinery.
It is important to ensure that you choose bearing products that are manufactured from materials that are compatible for use with the type of machinery that you are using. However, the durability and toughness of the bearing in relation to the application also needs to play an important role in the material choice for bearings.
